About Lakeside and it's creators.

Lakeside was created in Second Life in 2012 by Marryan Daines and Kimmy Sweetwater following the success of a number of renowned locations built and established in world.

Despite the sim name (and yes, it does confuse some) the sim is not a RP sim.
It is a public sim as we wanted to share and enjoy with you our little slice of heaven :)

It is a perfect little get away for anyone just wanting a bit of peace and quiet.....I'm sure we all need that from time to time :D
There are loads of couples areas too, lovely for a cuddle, a cheeky kiss or a romantic dance.....but we do like to keep it clean here ;)
With horse tours, bicycle rides, row boats and loads of places to explore......Lakeside really is the perfect place to enjoy and relax :)

Marryan Daines

Joined SL on 29th June 2009.
Marryan in her earlier days enjoyed and participated on the live music scene, attending numerous live events and working as a Barmaid in an Irish bar.
Marryan opened a live music venue called the Shoebox and held regular live music events, attracting a good crowd and a stable following. Two further venues followed shortly after.
Continuing forward with the live music scene, Marryan went on to manage and assist 5 live bands/artists successfully within SL.
Marryan also has had involvement with the music scene at LaPerla - Old Italy.

Kimmy Sweetwater

Joined SL on 25th August 2008.
Kimmy started her days in SL as a dancer at Global Passion. This soon progressed into management and finally, becoming a co-owner of the sim.
After closure of the sim, Kimmy went on to open **Oo..Glad Rags..oO**, affordable clothing for both males and females which specialised in comedy T-shirts.
Kimmy expanded her store and eventually opened her own sim, Kinano Bay.
It was here, in 2010, she met Marryan.
After much consideration, Kimmy closed her sim after 2 years of ownership and down sized the business to concentrate on RL.

The beginning of the Beavers :D

Shortly after, the two became neighbours with adjoining plots on a residential sim. This was the start of their first joint project, Pure Shores, a beach themed music venue.

Following the success of Pure Shores, the pair expanded their ideas (and their land size) and created Markim Square.
A beautiful village square area with a stage for live music, an English style pub, cafe and garden area to sit and relax.

Due to real life commitments (having a child), Kimmy took a break from Second Life and the closure of Markim Square was decided.

Maryann then went on to develop Lakeside, shortly joined by Kimmy after.
Together they developed and grew the sim it to what it is today.
Many changes and upgrades are made on the sim, trying to upkeep with the high demands of Second Life and what people wish to see at a location.
But the fundamental elements remain the same.....that Lakeside provides people with a peaceful sanctuary to escape to.
